Thanksgiving is a few weeks away and I’m finally sharing last year’s Thanksgiving table with you, a blue buffalo plaid table.Â
No worries, buffalo plaid continues to be one of the hottest holiday trends, which means it’s super easy to find decor and place settings in this theme.
In fact, it’s still so hot that I’m thinking of going with black and white buffalo check this year!
It all started with this gorgeous and inexpensive blue buffalo plaid table runner from Amazon.
I knew right away that I wanted to pair it with pops of orange. I love this color combination — it was my high school’s colors!
I am a huge fan of table runners because they can really transform the table without appearing “too busy.”
They are also easier to store than tablecloths (they take up less room so you can have more!)
To get this look, first layer on a white tablecloth and then top with the runner.
For the centerpiece, I used faux greenery and a mix of real, ceramic, and fabric pumpkins. Gold candlesticks (grab similar ones here) and orange taper candlesticks complete the look, leaving plenty of room for dishes to be shared on the table.
Thanksgiving Table Place Setting
Each place setting has either an orange or galvanized metal charger. I love using chargers to elevate the meal and they can be picked up at Dollar Tree or your local craft supply store on the cheap.
I kept it simple with my everyday Crate & Barrel white plates and a cloth napkin (I love these blue ones).
You might notice that I’m using a mix of silver and gold cutlery. This is only because I didn’t have enough of each to go around!
Setting the table is one of my favorite parts of Thanksgiving — aside from the food and the company! I really enjoyed putting this table together to feast with my family.
What do you most look forward to at Thanksgiving?

Such an elegant setup! This is my first year hosting Thanksgiving and honestly setting up the table is what I’m most excited for (besides getting to show off my newly resurfaced floor)! I’m always a fan of buffalo plaid, and hopefully I can find a cute table runner like yours!
