These DIY Fall Quote Banners are a breeze to make and bring the beauty of the season into your home.
We’ve had our first taste of Fall weather and I’ve started to make more comfort foods for dinner. I love a good slow cooker recipe and to smell the food simmering all day.
As I have been enjoying the cool, crisp air and the beautiful fall colors, I’m reminded of this quote:
Isn’t it funny how Fall seems to hit the reset button on life? The change in the weather, the leaves falling—it’s like nature’s way of saying, “Hey, let’s start fresh!”
Fall is the season of change and transformation, and I find it incredibly inspiring. The trees shed their leaves, making way for new growth in the Spring. Similarly, we can take this time to let go of the past, shedding any negativity or old habits, and start anew.
As we navigate the crisp days ahead, let’s carry the spirit of fall’s transformation with us and make the most of this wonderful season.
Today I’m excited to share a DIY to bring the essence of Fall into your home.
DIY Fall Quote Banners
Our dining room is a gathering place for family dinners, and while it’s still a work in progress to get it decorated how I want, it’s one of my favorite rooms in the house.
I have since moved, and the dining room at my new home continues to be a welcoming space to enjoy meals with my favorite people.
I love setting a pretty table, whether it’s for a simple Fall dinner or for a more Festive Fall Tablescape.
To get the dining room ready for Fall, I set out to find an easy DIY Fall Home Decor project.
I recently came across a tutorial on Pinterest for a DIY Easter Scroll Banner from Bless’er House and thought it would be a great idea to create a Fall banner for my empty dining room walls.
There are so many lovely Fall Quotes but two of them speak to my heart and I envisioned them wrapping my dining room in the sentiment. Of course, the F. Scott Fitzgerald quote I shared above and this one from Oscar Wilde:
How to make a Fall Quote Banner
Materials Needed
Step by Step Instructions
Step 1: Download your printables and choose your size. The printables are available as 18×24″ or 16×20″.
Get it printed at Shutterfly, Walgreens, Staples, Vista Print, or vivyxprinting.com. I had mine printed on matte paper, which may not be an option at all of these retailers. You will print on white paper. The kraft paper effect is part of the printable.
Step 2: Glue the dowels to the top and bottom of the printables. With your hot glue gun, run a strip of glue along the top and place the dowel on top of it, holding until it’s secure. Do the same at the bottom.
SUPPLY TIP
To purchase the dowels, I went to Home Depot and found some stained crown molding that worked perfectly. If you don’t get color-treated ones, pick up some stain. I even asked an employee to cut it down to 18.25″ each (for the larger size) so I didn’t even need to worry about pulling out the saw. Ask for 16.25″ for the smaller printable size and 18.25″ for the larger. That extra .25″ will come in handy!
Or you can purchase these craft dowels on Amazon. Note the smallest size is 18″ so you may need to cut it down for the 16″ printable.
Step 3: Secure the twine to the back of the paper with glue, and add a piece of card stock over the twine to secure it.
Step 4: Find a spot in your home and hang your banners. I used 3M Command Hooks for a quick and easy way to hang my banners.
