Host a beautiful sunflower Oktoberfest party with easy printables, a charcuterie board that steals the show, and a menu that keeps everyone coming back for seconds.

Fall is my favorite season and somewhere along the way, hosting an Oktoberfest party became one of our favorite fall traditions. It started as a casual “let’s invite family over for brats” situation, and now my people expect it every year. Which, honestly? I’m not mad about.
What I love about this party is that it’s genuinely low-lift. The sunflower theme does a lot of the heavy lifting visually (bright, warm, and seasonal), so you don’t need a mountain of decorations to make it look pulled together. A good printable set, a few tissue paper flowers, some fresh blooms, and a table full of good food and you’re done.
Keep reading for all the sunflower Oktoberfest party ideas: the table setup, what we served, the printables that tie it all together, and everything you need to shop to recreate it.
What you’ll love about this party:

Oktoberfest Party Table
Like last year’s Wurst Oktoberfest party, we set up on our back patio under the deck — it’s the perfect covered spot for a chilly fall afternoon. I used the same setup: a six-foot folding table for the food and my trusty (though sadly nearing its demise) potting table alongside it for extra surface.
After visiting a sunflower field earlier in the summer, I was all in on incorporating sunflowers as the main decor. I found these tissue paper sunflowers on Amazon, which are super affordable and really easy to use once you take the time to fluff them out. Worth every minute.
I added a bouquet of fresh flowers, an Oktoberfest-themed table cover, and anchored it all with my go-to party decor: printables from the shop. Simple party decor goes a long way when everything is cohesive.

A “Prost” banner hung over the food table is the easiest way to anchor the whole look. (Prost = cheers in German. You’re welcome.)
I assembled this one by punching a small hole in each corner of the flag panels and stringing baker’s twine through to connect them. It takes about five minutes and looks like you spent way more effort than you did.

Oktoberfest Party Food
I’m a creature of habit with this menu. Once I know what works, I replicate it — and this one works.
Our Oktoberfest spread (and some ideas for themed food names):
- Bratwurst with toppings (sauerkraut, mustard, the works): Das Brat
- Soft pretzels served with cheesy dip: Bavarian Bites
- Massive Charcuterie Board: The Biergarten Board
- Potato salad: Kartoffelsalat
- Veggie Tray: The Healthy Illusion
- Cupcakes: Süsse Träume (sweet dreams)
You’ll notice some of these items are store-bought and still in their containers. Totally fine. I have three kids I’m usually wrangling while party prepping. Don’t let perfect be the enemy of good — the most important part is the people enjoying the party.

The Oktoberfest Charcuterie Board
This massive charcuterie board is a party in itself — and it’s always the first thing guests make a beeline for. While it takes a good chunk of time (and groceries) to fill, the end result is absolutely worth it.
I filled mine with three different types of pretzels, beer cheese dip, a few kinds of salami and pastrami, a selection of cheeses, pickles, jams, dried apricots, crackers, and a little bread for good measure. If you’re not food-safe with your board, lay down parchment paper underneath everything.

Pro tip: the snack sign tucked next to the board makes it feel designed. I love using the food tent cards from the printable set here — even one or two signs elevates the whole spread.

Oktoberbest Party Printables
The Sunflower Oktoberfest Printable Set is a $10 instant download that includes everything you need to make your table look like you hired a party stylist:
- 8×10″ Oktoberfest Sign (instant download)
- 4×6″ Oktoberfest Signs, 2 designs (instant download)
- Food Tent Cards (editable in Corjl — type your themed food names right in your browser)
- Prost Banner (instant download)
The tent cards are my favorite part. They’re editable, so you can give your food festive German names and make the whole spread feel intentional instead of just… a table full of food. I love when the decor and the menu work together.
